The Road Forward
Our Commitment to Sustainability
The Local Economic Development Unit (LEDU) of the Diego Martin Borough Corporation (DMBC), participated in the prestigious Green Infrastructure Conference 2025, held on January 23-24 at the Arthur Lok Jack Global School of Business. This invitation emphasises the LEDU’s growing role in the promotion of sustainable economic development and environmental initiatives.
The conference aligned with one of the LEDU’s core pillars, Prosperity and it provided a platform for clean climate tech. innovators to highlight several initiatives that could help businesses and NGOs thrive, while fostering sustainable economic growth in Diego Martin.
This opportunity provided the LEDU with the chance to engage with green finance and infrastructure experts, explore funding for local environmental and economic projects, as well as network with local companies specialising in waste management, eco-tourism, and land regeneration.
Moving forward into 2025, the LEDU is committed to pursuing green initiatives while strengthening partnerships with environmental organisations, and exploring opportunities for advanced waste management and sustainable urban planning. Additionally, the LEDU aims to introduce environmental education programmes and hands-on sustainability projects in schools, engaging students in eco-tourism and conservation efforts.
Through our participation, the LEDU reaffirms its commitment to a greener, more economically resilient Diego Martin.
